Our Commitment to Mossy Eath for a New Year of Rewilding

In 2022 Viva Digital became Carbon Neutral, a really important milestone that we have been able to reach through our monthly donations in support of Mossy Eath, an association that promotes various initiatives aimed at countering the disastrous effects of climate change.

When we joined the Mossy Earth community, our first goal was to plant 48 trees every year, in order to offset all direct CO2 emissions that we produce with our daily work.

Our collaboration with Mossy Earth began in May 2022 and since then we have not limited ourselves to funding reforestation projects, planting 32 trees in 8 months, but we also supported projects for the protection of ecosystems and biodiversity active in Europe and in the African state of Benin. During the month of November, in particular, we chose to give our support to two interesting rewilding initiatives based in Portugal.

Initiatives of rewilding in Portugal

The active project on one of the Portuguese islands of the Madeira archipelago for the protection of four species of snails endangered had already attracted our attention in July and we have therefore decided to continue supporting it. In this initiative, Mossy Earth and its partners present on site carry out a series of expeditions to different places on the island in order to look for snails hidden among the rocks and vegetation. Only through these surveys is it possible to make an accurate estimate of the number of snails actually present on the island. Thanks to the photographs and the series visible on Youtube channel of the association, we supporters of the project have had the opportunity to observe its progress and the results obtained up to now.

In the same month of November, we started supporting a new project of rewilding in mainland Portugal: the restoration of the former mining area of the Côa Valley. In fact, the area has various aquatic environments which constitute the ideal habitat for numerous species of mammals, amphibians, insects and birds. The project, which will continue until February 2023, aims to increase the resilience of these habitats to climate change so that they are able to host a larger population of amphibians, reptiles, molluscs, arthropods and nesting and wintering birds.

Why will we continue to support Mossy Earth?

Every month, Mossy Earth provides us with precise updates on the progress of the projects we are supporting. The transparency of this association has allowed us to understand that our monthly donations can really have a positive impact on our planet.

For this reason, we have decided to continue funding the initiatives promoted by Mossy Earth also in 2023. And also in the course of next year, our aim will be to involve you too, dear reader, in the beautiful community of this association. We remind you, in fact, that using the our link To join and start supporting the association, Mossy Earth will commit to planting 8 extra trees, 4 in your project and 4 more in our project. By doing so, you will also be entitled to one free telephone consultation, lasting one hour, with our founder Marco Scarsella.

Our New Year's resolution? Continue to support those who take care of our planet!
