Our research group investigated several ligands of BBB nutrient transport systems and the combination of the amino acid alanine and among them the tripeptide glutathione (A-GSH) was the most successful for targeting the BBB in case of nanovesicles [32, 33] or 3-armed poly(l-glutamic acid) (3-PLG) nanocarriers in BBB cultures and animals [24]
